The Langley Sisters

The Langley sisters are the genuine article, Gita, Rosie and Edie Langley have been singing and making music together since childhood. Their close three-part harmony group heralds from the golden Hollywood age and their classic renditions of The Andrew Sisters songs and other vintage hits of the 1920’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s never fail to wow an audience.

The Langley Sisters first release on 'Velvet Blue Records' gained fantastic press and radio play - KCRW named one of their tracks 'Today's Top Tune' and following that with an EP 'Sirens and an album titled 'Sing For My Supper'. Most recently Carl Barat cover Gita's 'Sing For My Supper' for his EP 'Death Fires' and were delighted to be asked to sing for an Absolute radio session and perform their title track ‘Sing For My Supper’. The girls have performed at many of London’s finest venues including Kensington Palace, Hampton Court Palace and One Marylebone and have supported Jools Holland and Paloma Faith on tour. The sisters also secured a much sought-after performance at Glastonbury Festival on the BBC Introducing stage. They’ve wowed the crowd at the Barbican and in Gateshead and Dublin as part of the ‘Rogues’ Gallery’ where they performed vocals with Lou Reed, Suzanne Vega, Tim Robbins and Shane McGowan to name but a few.

The Langley Sisters have extensive experience in the corporate events industry and in the spirit of this bygone era, the sisters will conjure up the style, glamour and good times for any event.

They perform their songs to backing tracks that have been pre-recorded by their live band to ensure a totally big band live feel. Performance sets can be tailored to your party needs. Always in keeping with your event, the girls dress in beautiful vintage-inspired silk gowns by Jenny Packham and have a number of matching eye-catching outfits for your chosen era.

For a twist – The Langley Sisters also perform modern songs with a retro edge, which we find works very well as a second party set for dancing, for Gatsby or post modern jukebox themed evenings.

The new millennium’s answer to the Lennon Sisters is the Langley Sisters, a family trio from London that creates music that sounds like it was pulled from the pages of a fairy tale. ‘Strange To Be In Love’ for example, overflows with heavenly vocal harmonies and whimsical lyrics, such as “I’ll be your Rita Hayworth … Magnet Magazine

The Langley Sisters, surely one of the most aesthetically pleasing acts to have ever graced the Scala stage. It was unlikely that there was a single person in the crowd that was not transfixed by this terrific trio - Ian Sandwell, The Music Fix

The Langley Sisters offer up music that’s jaunty, feminine, light. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. B-side “Someday In The Past” is a delicate, folksy track sure to inspire a little introspection.”- Chris Martins, LA Weekly

Recently I stumbled across the angelic vocals and nostalgia-inspiring harmonies of The Langley Sisters. Their shimmering stage presence and Twenties show tunes delighted us all- Natalie ODell, London Lite
