Paul has been a professional singer / vocal impressionist since 1982. The first ten years were spent learning his trade as lead vocalist and front man in the showband "Kool Decision." Three UK and two Spanish summer seasons, one years touring of Scandinavia, three years resident in the Middle East and several cruises was just some of the work completed by this busy cabaret band.
Embarking on a solo career in 1992, Paul quickly established himself as a formidable entertainer. His unique vocal range enabled him to perform anything from pop and theatre standards to light opera.
This rare versatility made Paul an extremely popular stage performer and much sought after entertainer. It was during these times it came to light that he had an uncanny likeness to the late Roy Orbison. People were approaching Paul to comment on his exceptional vocals and his breath-taking similarity to "The Big O".
This is how the amazing Roy Orbison tribute show was born.
Paul has spent years perfecting the voice that has now established him as one of the worlds premier Roy Orbison impersonators.
He has performed worldwide as Roy Orbison, in theatres, at corporate events, on prestigious cruise liners like the Queen Mary 2 and has appeared on BBC television and radio, all due to his remarkable talent. Dressed all in black, Paul totally encapsulates the persona of Roy Orbison, leading you to believe that you actually are in the presence of this great icon. Expertly arranged narrative voice-overs set the scene for the audience, and take them on a melancholy journey through Roys eventful life.
Paul's soaring vibrato sends shivers down the spine of everyone in the room. He sings all the songs in the original key and uses the original arrangements. His performance is so accurate that the audience are completely spellbound for the entire set. Having the voice is one thing, but this man has captured the essence of whom Roy Orbison was, and can deliver every song in that shy, yet soulful way that we all associate with the legend. In addition to this, Paul is a very accomplished guitar player making the whole performance completely live.
Roy Orbison sang behind dark glasses, and hardly spoke to his audience, so all he could rely on was his fabulous voice and sheer magnetism to draw the crowds into his spell.
