Trovatori

Versatile and unique, Trovatori (Italian for "wandering minstrels") are a duo of exceptional classical singers whose talents have taken them all over the world. As well as singing they both play classical guitars and perform many of their own arrangements of classics from opera, operetta, musicals, films, 'popera' hits, Neapolitan songs and folk songs.

Trovatori are Darren Clarke and Caroline Lester, a tenor and soprano who met while singing at the renowned opera festival in Bregenz, Austria.  They decided to perform as a duo in order to present live entertainment of the highest quality that encompasses the many genres of music for which they have a passion.  From singing grand operatic numbers through to intimate folk songs, and from romantic operetta to modern musicals, Trovatori’s shows are always full of passion, drama, humour and musical excellence.  They develop a relaxed rapport with every audience they perform to.

As well as performing as Trovatori both Darren and Caroline enjoy careers as solo artists.  Darren studied at the Royal Northern College of Music.  His singing career has taken him to opera houses and theatres in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, and Europe.  He is also an accomplished lieder singer.  Caroline studied composition at Durham University and reached the final stages of Channel 4's Operatunity and ITV's Search for a Soprano.  She has performed numerous operatic roles and has appeared in many oratorios and concerts across the UK, Europe and the United States.

In 2011 and 2012 they performed as a headlining act for Thomson Gold and Thomson Couples at their hotels across Europe to great acclaim.  They are also in demand to appear at music festivals, corporate events and concerts across the UK
